Cycle Oregon - Day 1

Ok, so after the arrival scene...which I found a few more pictures of, it was time for some riding!

This was the parking lot complete with Rhinos, Quads, and trucks to take bags over to the camping area.

Ok, ok, so here's Day 1.  First a shot of the ride overview and then the day one specifics.

And a few pictures from the ride.

Only 12 miles in and we hit the first water stop.  It's really more like several 15-20 mile rides with lots of rest stops and excuses to screw around!

The first "real" rest stop about 28 miles in included coffee....from a bike....that he was riding the entire 76 miles!

And of course while hanging out at the lake (at the rest stop), there was live music, food, and drinks.  So far this ride isn't exactly taxing!

Ok, ok, so there were hills (and by hills I mean summits).  As you can see the summit was yet another chance to stop and hang out.

And who can resist the quintessential summit photo cred!

The final rest stop before pushing back into camp.
The first day was extra nice because it looped back to John Day (our starting point), so we didn't have to break down and reset camp before hitting the dinning tent, enjoying the band, and generally clowning around!

Back out to listen to the band.

As you can see, spirits weren't dampened much by 76 miles!
