To the RTC Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee:
VIRGINIA STREET CORRIDOR SURVEY
The
Regional Transportation Commission is seeking public input using a
survey to consider potential
improvements for the Virginia Street corridor. The RTC has initiated a
corridor investment planning process on Virginia Street from the Mt.
Rose Highway to North McCarran Boulevard. The purpose of this study is
to conduct a multimodal (pedestrian, bicycle,
transit and automobile) analysis for transportation improvements on
Virginia Street. The study will identify recommendations for increasing
mobility options, improving safety, addressing parking needs, and
collaborating with stakeholders and economic development
efforts within the corridor. Corridor stakeholders include the City of
Reno, the University of Nevada, Reno, retail centers, business owners
and the general public.
Surveys can be accessed through posters with QR codes, using Smartphones at these locations (click here).
When
completed, the plan will identify short and long term improvements and
develop a funding and
implementation strategy. The outcome of the study, anticipated to be
completed in late winter 2014, will be incorporated into the Regional
Transportation Plan and the Regional Transportation Improvement
Program.  Please see the map and list of retail locations
 below.
The RTC will conduct community outreach activities throughout the study’s planning process.  Interested
individuals may contact RTC Planner Patrice Echola at
pechola@rtcwashoe.com to be added to
the project database for event notification, request study information
or ask questions. A survey is now available until July 31, 2013
to receive public input.  Please share your ideas,
comments and concerns to help RTC develop a base of community
preferences for analysis and discussion by the project team and
stakeholders.

[This site is so hard to read, maybe you could change the lettering to white.] I am hoping this project ends at Plumb Lane. I don't not like driving on Virginia Street north of Plumb Lane and very seldom go to downtown Reno. I am hoping South Reno is left alone. I enjoy the four lanes on Virginia Street.
