Training....
I know a lot of cyclist who get out the fancy road bike on the weekend and do a bit of training. Heck, I even hit the verdi loop once in a while and have my eye on the clock for exactly how long the loop takes me. Apparently, bus drivers do a bit of training as well. You have to keep that gas pedal foot in top shape you know!
Seriously though, I hop scotched with this driver in training all the way down Mill St. From a cycling opinion he did pretty darn well. He stayed behind me for about a block before hitting a bus stop rather than passing and blocking the bike lane in front of me. He also gave a wide berth (more than 3ft) when passing. So kudos to the RTC training program. Seems like they're doing a good job.

Hey man....do you work out?
I don't do training rides. Well, at least not in the traditional sense of getting into my "kit" and heading out with a group of other guys to see how hard we can go for 40-50 miles. So when I saw these guys out my window yesterday it amused me enough to snap a pic.
Don't get me wrong. The more cyclist out there the better off we all are! I just can't help thinking how weird they look. Reminds me of a group of girls headed for the bathroom together!
I know it's just a different side of bicycling. It's not transportation, it's exercise and they are out there for a point.....not to get from point A to point B. So what do you say....Do you ride to work out or just to get around (or both)?

Are you riding or are you training?
My riding style (and choice of bikes) is definitely geared toward just riding for everyday life. Recently, a friend asked me if I ever did any training rides. I told him I hadn't for quite a while (like years). So this morning on the way to work I managed to get in a train(ing) ride. I don't think this was what he meant though!
On the up side, my bike is really fun to ride through the corners.... I guess you could say it corners like it's on rails! Oh, man I really have to stop. This post is just getting farther and farther off track. Ok, seriously I'm done.
