Well...I went for a ride today in Eugene. Got turned around but found a great trail. Like the river path but with less homeless and more families! :-)

Reno and Eugene combined?
Well as of Friday morning I'll be officially out of Reno. I had another trip up to Eugene to move the last "small" items....like a fricking hot tub last weekend. And while I was there I just happened to run into these two!
Zach and Laura left Reno about three weeks (?) ago on fat bikes after selling most of their worldly possessions and putting the rest in storage.
They managed to back road it all the way up to Bend and then decided to come visit in Eugene. So....of course I put them back on their bikes and we pedaled down to Ninkasi brewery! It was a great way to tie together a little bit of my old life in Reno with my new life in Eugene. So here's to biking into the future!
***Also...a huge thanks to Zach and Laura for helping to move the hot tub to the new back yard! It wouldn't have happened without their help!***

Alabama bike share....Tour De Nez.....life moves fast.
Ok, life is moving faster than ever on my last few days in Reno. Here's some pictures that capture my last week. I'm too busy at work to try to do a proper write up...sorry about that.
My first bike share ride...via Birmingham, Alabama! Way faster than my walk to the brewery! |
The oversized grin during that first ride! |
And then back in Reno....Tour de Nez Vintage race...My friend mark rocking the Rivendell! |
And my awesome friend Julie (of Bike to Work Week fame)! |
Our cheering section at Pignic! |
Our pile of bikes....Pignic needs some bike parking! |
And the astonishing fact that the city of Reno actually has custom signs for the road closure! Cool! |

The Commute Ride...not many left.
I guess I haven't ever really made this public....but my time in Reno is winding down. Life pushes us in a lot of directions and the last year and a half has been a tumultuous time for me. I've taken the stance that life only moves forward, and right now forward means I've sold my house and already moved most of my physical possessions to Eugene (Oregon). So the title/time of Riding in Reno is that much more precious to me. To that end, my number of commute days is also down to a handful, so here's a few pics!
Just riding. |
The neighborhood. |
The back roads. |
Low traffic route! |
Way more bike lanes than there used to be. |
Oh look...the Reno Tahoe Odyssey is starting! |
Ugly bike lanes on Mill St. |

Bikes you see!
I was up in Eugene, Oregon again last weekend. And while tooling around downtown I happened across this sweet ride. Funny part is I saw it a few months ago on another trip but didn't ever write it up.....so here you go.
Integrated frame and rack! Integrated frame water bottle holder! OMG! Who knew that such a ride existed. Well now you do. You're bikey curiosity about them can be satisfied here:
