Awwww, come on! Give us a map of the route! This looks like fun, well, except for the portage part. My Schwinn is a touring model that weighs 38 lbs..definite upper body workout.
ReplyDeleteAnother great loop is around Washoe valley. Park at the mansion and take off going south on Old 395, then on too East Lake Blvd and back on what used to be the main drag. Very little traffic out there these days. And for even more scenery (and hills) as you head south from Bowers Mansion, take the Franktown Rd. and follow it until it joins back up with Old 395 just a bit before the East Lake turnoff.
A really long loop would be to park at Target at the south end of Carson City. Take the Jacks Valley Rd. into Genoa and then on too the foot of the pass. Go left there back into Minden and then up the 395 (nice wide shoulder) back into Carson city and the Target parking lot.
